The Yojana offers an interest rate of 7.6% (wef 01-04-2020). The scheme, as the name suggests, is for one girl only, but it can be open for two or three in the case of twins. Accounts for the same can be created in authorized banks such as HDFC bank and post offices across the country. - Withdrawals will be permitted to pay for the account holder‘s higher education.
- The account can be transferred from one post office/bank to another anywhere in India.
- It will mature once a period of 21 years has passed after opening.
